There was once a man who didn't like the clouds he saw in the sky. Somehow, they did not seem like the sort of clouds he remembered seeing as a boy--large and fluffy or high and wispy. These new clouds formed in lines, sometimes criss-crossing each other, growing wider and heavier as time progressed. Something about them did not feel right, although he could not exactly put his finger on the reason why.
As more of these ominous, straight-lined clouds appeared, he decided it was time to do something about it. He knew that if he focused his thoughts at those clouds, he could call up winds that would open up holes in the clouds or sometimes even blow the clouds out of the sky altogether. All he had to do was point his finger at the cloud he wanted dispersed, focus his attention and energy upon it, and the cloud would begin to break up and dissipate. The more he practiced and focused his energy on the clouds, the easier it became. As he believed, so it was.
Other people would occasionally note this strange behavior and ask him about it. "I'm getting rid of those straight-lined clouds in order to clear the space for the beautiful fluffy and wispy clouds I so enjoy seeing," was his simple reply. They would mock him and laugh at him and tell him it couldn't be done and derisively call him "cloud healer". It was okay with him. He knew what was possible. As he believed, so it was.
One day, a child watched the cloud healer point into the sky and saw how the clouds disappeared where he pointed. The child knew he too had this power, so he began to point into the sky and disperse the clouds as well. Now two people could chase the ominous clouds away. A few people here and there began to recognize that both the man and the child had the power to clear the clouds because they could see the almost instantaneous results. As they believed, so it was. They too could take on the power to heal the clouds.
Many others still scoffed, because they did not want to see what was clearly under their noses. They had already judged it to be impossible, and in their minds it was. Some were even outraged that the man would pretend to take on the power of God, for everybody knows that only God has the power to move the clouds.
As more people saw the evidence of the vanishing clouds, more people knew what was possible. They began to realize if people had the power to heal the clouds, they had the power to heal other things as well. Soon, there were people who focused their attention on healing earth that had been destroyed through chemicals and over-farming and people who focused on healing streams, rivers, lakes and oceans that had been overcome by pollution. Other people began to focus on those who were sick and dying. Seemingly spontaneous healings would occur--tumors would become nonexistent and those who had been bedridden would begin to take care of themselves once again. As they believed, so it was. There was no limit on what could be created.
The cloud healer looked at his world and saw the changes which had taken place. It was then he understood that by changing his world he had been instrumental in helping others change theirs.
We are limited only by our thoughts. As we believe, so it is.
