Five Simple Ways To Change Your Energy Now!

Feeling sad? Angry? Have no energy? Here are five simple things you can do right now to change it!

1. Listen to uplifting music! This does not necessarily mean you have to listen to music your parents like (although there is nothing wrong with that if you do!). Different tones and styles of music can do different things. Do keep in mind that different tones have different effects on your energy. (Watch this video to understand the effects sound can have on the environment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nO0bSSXmr1A.) If you are stressed and need to relax, something calm and peaceful is called for. If you are tired and need more energy, something with a beat will help. Let your feelings dictate what you listen to!

2. Go for a walk! For me, taking a walk in nature always does the trick--the ability to commune with nature can be very restful. However, if you live in the city or have to sit in an office all day this may not be practical. Walking anywhere--whether it be around the block or up and down your office stairs--will help get the blood flowing in your body, clearing your mind as you release accumulated toxins. Taking a walk is something you can do to quiet your mind and help you focus once again on what is important to you.

3. Read! Read anything that interests you--the latest best-selling novel, a new recipe you want to try, a self-help book or even the sports page in the paper. The key here is to read something you find enjoyable. Paying attention to the simple things that bring you joy puts you in a better frame of mind, washing away the stress and pain. Anything that allows you to overcome your stressors is time well spent.

4. Watch a movie! Like reading material, movies are a wonderful way to change your energy by changing your state of mind. Again, choose what you watch based on your feelings. If you are sad or angry, a good comedy will have you laughing again in no time. A beautiful romance will help you feel that magic is possible and everything is alright in the world when you are low and out of sorts. Remember, if it makes you happy, go for it!

5. Take a bath! A long soak in a nice hot bath can have many different effects--all of which can change your energy for the better. It will sooth tired muscles, relaxing body and mind. It's something you typically do by yourself, so it is a great way to get some quiet meditation time. Adding a calming essential oil, like lavender, can help your body relax, or you could try adding some natural bath salts, which can help your body detoxify. (If you add bath salts, make sure to drink plenty of water as this detox process can dehydrate you.)

Remember, changing your energy is as simple as changing your feelings. Feelings are the source of your power. It is often the little things we do for ourselves that bring the most comfort and help us get a handle on those things that stress us. Allow yourself the blessing of nurturing you!
